Thank you for all your replies. I contacted them via the website you gave me, and they now have a new one playatorrecilla. Their prices seem very good, considering they say they have been upgrading I never realised how quickly you could solve my problem, thank you - we really liked the look of this place and could not remember the name.
Will report back. If they've been modernised and upgraded they are good value, if as you say it's unlikely you'll use a pool in any event. The negative here is lack of pool and not great views, for that you pay extra at the others mentioned. Still nice position though as on a sunny day you can sit on the terrace and hear the waves hitting the beach.
Glad you got a result and got in contact. We spoke to a family who stay there every year and they said although basic the apartments are very spacious and have everything you need. Totally disagree about the lack of view!! Are you sure you are thinking of the correct apartments? Please read my posts in total. Better position better views and a pool. If you know those apartments you'll understand what I mean, they are premium rates with views over the cliff, playa salon and out to Nerja old town.
Am I sure? Stayed in apartmentos Toreccilla when I first discovered Nerja for about 3 years, one long-term whilst waiting for our apartment to be finished other side of town. Used to have a drink with the then manager etc. I only post here from experience. I clearly said Toreccilla is excellent value but at the same price it wouldn't compare to the other two mentioned in same context. I did say they are good value and will suit the OP. Everyone has different priorities.
What I like about Torrecilla beach, is that it is the only beach where you are straight on the beach not on a cliff - which I assume some of the others mentioned are - or far away like burriana and can hear the waves on the sand. When we stayed at torresol we did not use the pool, as the sea is as easy to get to as the pool and nicer to swim in in warmer weather. But as I said, I rather have a nice quiet garden than a pool. And having looked around at prices, apartamentos playa torrecilla still seem to be cheaper than most of the others mentioned.
