The town was the first resort in the area to be developed, back in the s, and it has changed dramatically from its origins as a quiet fishing village! It is now famous throughout Europe for its hectic nightlife - but out of season, or in the sleepier areas of the town such as El Bajondillo or La Carihuela , you can still have a relaxing holiday, soaking up the Spanish sun!
Our favourite areas to rent accommodation are Los Alamos which is down by the beach, and La Carihuela , a small fishing town just a short walk down the beach from Torremolinos proper. Once you have decided on your area, you can use Wimdu to search for exactly the type of accommodation you need.
We have family villas with swimming pools, apartments suitable for a group vacation, with multiple bedrooms and en-suite facilities, or simple bed and breakfast holiday rentals. Whatever you are looking for, Wimdu can help! Torremolinos has everything you would expect for a Spanish holiday of sun, sea and sangria. The beach especially is beautifully clean and there are many public parks and gardens - the town has over one thousand different species of tree! Torremolinos is also surrounded by beautiful forested countryside, and heading to the quiet shade of the trees for a family barbecue provides a nice change to baking on the beach!
Water sports are popular and you can rent windsurfers and kitesurfing boards easily and cheaply. Check when you make your accommodation booking though - some villas come complete with equipment. A really nice family afternoon out is to go dolphin watching on a boat trip from Benalmadena marina - and make sure you take the kids to Aqualand - the biggest waterpark in Andalucia! Torremolinos is also handy for the rest of Andalucia and you can easily take a day-trip to see the Moorish castle at Malaga , the lovely mountain town of Mijas or take in the shopping and sights of Marbella.
If you are interested in the local Andalucian cuisine then you must head over to the small fishing village of La Carihuela which is famous throughout the country for its seafood. For family stays, many properties feature large rooms in private, enclosed properties with your own garden and pool so you can take a dip in those hot summer days.
Balconies, terraces and patios are perfect for a great nap after lunch or a good spot for your dinings al fresco. State-of-the-art kitchens, stylish lounges and modern interiors in typical seafront buildings. Find some more traditional accommodations in the centre, but still well furnished and ready to make your stay an unforgettable one.
Celebrities like John Lennon, Frank Sinatra or Sofia Loren chose Torremolinos to spend their holidays and maybe that is the reason that has become so popular. The busy street of San Miguel is where restaurants and shops are, together with the most incredible nightlife spots you can imagine.
This is a paradise for beach lovers looking for a paradise to enjoy the sun but also finding time to unwind and recharge their batteries along the 7 km of coastline and 6 wonderful beaches. And when the sun starts to go down, take a pleasant stroll along the endless promenade, admiring the horizon. But Torremolinos is not just a beach resort. Away from the beachfront, you can practice outdoor activities. Golf lovers will find the perfect spot for practising their shots.
Families with children will have a wide array of possibilities for the little ones, including amusement and water parks such as Aquapark Torremolinos or Crocodile Park, to have a great day out. Granada and Seville, are also a short drive away.
Every day is different. Choose yours! Take a sip of any refreshing beer of your choice and sample some sangria in your meals. Torremolinos is famous for its stunning and breathtaking beaches, therefore is the ideal place to chill and relax. The area, though, has also interesting parks to visit together with your little ones or with your friends.
Incredible stops not to miss are the amazing botanical gardens Molino de Inca or the exiting Crocodile Park! The botanical garden has an average of thousand species of colorful and lush plants together with different species of birds. In the garden you will also find a replica of the old Molino, from which the botanical gardens take the name. On the other hand, visiting the crocodile park is a more adventurous experience since it is possible to see more than crocodiles.
After a great day on the beach or a wild night out we suggest a walk around the old part of town. The historic centre offers the most famous streets of all, Calle San Miguel. This pedestrianized street is lined with excellent boutiques, delicatessens and jewellers. At the end you will see the old Andalusian neoclassic style church, Iglesia de San Miguel. No coastal resort is complete without a promenade.
Torremolinos enjoys the privilege of great beaches but also a lively with a palm tree-lined promenade that almost covers the entire coastline. El Paseo del Bajondillo is just in front of the old town and in the far southwest, a small rock formation divides the beaches of Carihuela and Bajondillo. Cosy ground floor apartment with a small garden area.
Centrally located near bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a taxi rank. Very well equipped apartment, that would suit a single traveller or a couple. Only negative was noisy neighbours, especially at night time. Still looking forward to visiting again though. A beautiful apartment in a beautiful hotel. Everything you could possibly need is provided by the owners who are at hand to help with any enquiries.
I would definately reccomend this apartment to anyone. Hopefully i will stay there again. So good you want to go back. Everything was so good, from booking to departure. The apartment was lovely, clean, well equipped and couldn't be in a better location. Javier who met us with the keys and for our leaving was charming and helpful. It was in a residential area but only 2 mins walk from the main street.
