The breakfast was great, with great views wherever we sat and there was a nice selection of different foods and drinks.
As we didn't know the area, the staff at reception were very helpful with telling us how to get to different places. The spa was good and the treatments were nice. The beach was lovely and the area was traditional. Everything we wanted was easily accessible either by foot, tram or bus.
Only small criticism is that we lost hot water in our room the day before we left and it didn't get fixed very quickly, but it was not a huge problem for us. Cannot wait to return to this hotel and would recommend this for anyone especially couples and small families. Thank you to all the staff at Melia Alicante for our lovely stay. See you again soon!! Excellent 64 reviews. Tryp Alicante Gran Sol Hotel. The parking facility was about a kilometre away, so after depositing our bags we then had to struggle out of the zone again and then walk back.
Our room looked out onto the main rambla and was a great spot for watching the excitement of the fiesta below. We had a corner room which also gave us a small sitting room and access to the balcony. The hotel is well positioned for walks along the promenade, which was great that night as all the food tents and restaurants were close by.
We were also a short walk to the marina. Unfortunately when the bonfires went up at midnight a thick pall of black smoke swept across the hotel and we had to quickly run inside and close all our windows. Exceptional 4 reviews. Apartamentos Barbara 3. We stayed on a Sunday so had no noise problems except the late arrivals in the apartment next door.
Car parking was a bonus and reasonably priced. We will be back. Excellent 36 reviews. AC Hotel Alicante. The hotel was very modern and very clean. The room was perfect and cleaned every day. Nice extra touches - newspapers and free minibar. Excellent value for money.
I was at the hotel on a leisure break but as a business traveller it was far better than many in the UK and they would be triple the price. I would stay there again.
Excellent 22 reviews. Tryp Ciudad de Alicante Hotel. Very good 93 reviews. Campanile Alicante. The hotel is a 20 min walk from the centre, beach and marina and we loved it. It's very clean and staff are great. Buses run to the city a short walk away and with the C6 airport bus stopping outside its an absolutely great place to stay.
The area in which the hotel is situated is a little run down and a few workers ply their trade close by but this when it's late at night and you never feel threatened or intimidated by either their presence or the area itself. The hotel room is cleaned every day and the only thing I would like to have had is a little mini fridge to store milk and water but other than that, that's abouts it.
Alicante is a tourist area where the Spanish take their holidays so that should tell you something. The beaches are wonderful, there are a few hawkers on the beach selling sangria and sunglasses but they don't bother you once you say 'noh, gracias'. Anyway, I'm pleased we didn't stay in Benidorm and only visited by train which itself is great as it hugs the shore. All in all a fantastic place with wonderful old buildings and impressive architecture, bars, eateries, and great night life.
Exceptional 8 reviews. Palacio Salvetti Suites. Very clean, spacious, located in the city centre. Most importantly, you feel very welcome by the amazing team. Will definitely be back! Hotel Goya. Exceptional 3 reviews.
Tomate Rooms. Was a fantastic holiday. Thank you! Excellent 37 reviews. Eurostars Mediterranea Plaza Hotel. Upon check-in we were greeted with a smile - the receptionist noticed we had 2 toddlers in tow and provided us with a larger than average room, The room was very clean, warm and welcoming.
The room also had a small Juliet balcony which overlooked the plaza - as it's nearing Christmas the townhall were erecting an ice rink and market stalls - this certainly got us in the mood for the festive season.
We didn't opt-ion for breakfast so cannot comment on the food. There's so much choice in terms of bars and restaurants, whether you're looking for some traditional tapsa, sushi, seafood, or something more upmarket then Alicante is for you.
One major plus point with this hotel is that you can can get everywhere on foot - no need for taxi's or buses. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and it will certainly be top of the list when we next visit Alicante. Exceptional 57 reviews. Hospes Amerigo Hotel. Evey time I have stayed here I am blown away by the helpfulness and charm of the Staff, the rooms are a great size and very comfortable and the food in the tapas bar is excellent.
It is in the perfect position for all amenities. Excellent 12 reviews. Mercado Central. This mini apart-hotel is like your home, WiFi in all the rooms.
Enjoy Alicante down town. Exceptional 6 reviews. Hotel Boutique Alicante Palacete S. Fabulous location- close to the beach, nightlife and shopping.
Beautiful and clean room. Friendly and helpfull staff. Excellent 67 reviews. Eurostars Lucentum Hotel. It is conveniently situated and the staff assisted us with all we needed. Very good 3 reviews. Apartamentos Santa Barbara. Sweet San Francisco. Equipment included 1 dinner plate, 1 bowl, 1 glass, 2 mugs, 2 small pans, 1 spoon, other cutlery.
Had to buy cloths, tea towel, liquid, extra glass, container to eat food off as there was 2 of us, bottle opener. We repeatedly asked for a few of these items by text, but they just kept saying will bring it later and didn't bring them until 8pm the evening before leaving.
We stayed for 3 nights. We didn't leave any of the purchased items there as they should have provided these, so be prepared! Also no mop or broom to clean up after ourselves. This is a good apartment to rest and shower, but not to have breakfast or other food and drinks in. Would not describe it as self catering. Clean, modern, really nice building. Excellent 9 reviews. Ole Backpackers Hostel. Free fast wifi, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, friendly staff.
Very good value for money, very nice place to stay at, highly recommended. Excellent 1 review. Luces de Catedral. Only issue is that could have topped up coffee pods like other apartments we have stayed in. Would stay here again. Hotel Rialto. Our room which had a small balcony overlooked the street below, it was double glazed so there was minimal noise from outside.
The room was clean but basic with shower, bath, toilet, bidet and a T. There is a lift and 24 hour reception. The guys on the front desk are very helpful.
To get the bus to the airport turn right outside the hotel walk 3 minutes to Av Alfonso el Sabio cross the road and take the Blue Bus C6, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. Excellent 4 reviews. Pension Alicante San Nicolas. I guess that's why it's considered a prime location The owner is friendly and helpful.
One grievance I had was their cleaning policy as because on the day it would have been due I was ill in bed and so I ended up staying my 4 nights without any cleaning service. Good 5 reviews. Les Monges Palace Boutique. Our room set up was quite spartan and basic. Not very clean unfortunately. The hotel highlight is its location. It is in the nicest and best connected area of Alicante.
Excellent 14 reviews. The nice beach and promenade are only a short walk away. The staff at the hotel are professional and polite. The added bonus here was Santa Barbara Castle.
From the dining veranda, you can see it towering over the city. It is worth the walk or the trip up in the lift. It takes about 20 minutes. For all these conveniences, this place is well worth the money. Good 3 reviews. Pension Portugal. Exceptional 1 review. Old Town Alicante. Cosy but clean and comfortable enough. Good friendly management. Good Mexican restaurant next corner.
Very good 38 reviews. Hotel Albahia Alicante. Although we only stayed there 1 night the hotel was great value for money, only short taxi, tram or bus ride away from the centre and the port in Alicante. Staff were more than friendly and spoke excellent English. The rooms were basic but had cable t. Hot running water and a self service ironing room and laundry room which was a plus.
On the negaitve side it was a bit complicated to find from the main road and was not ideal for non-walkers. However it was a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend staying here.
If you are not into luxury accomodation and 5 star surroundings and you are just looking for a clean, standard type of accomodation with friendly, helpful staff, then this is the place for you. Very good 27 reviews. Very good 9 reviews.
