A Lovely boutique hotel situated centrally in Madrid, only minutes walk from most major attractions in Centro.
The moment you walk in, your luggage is carried to your room for you. Lovely smell of the entrance and lobby at all times. So many comfortable and classy seating areas, and multiple terraces to enjoy a nice view of downtown. The room was perfect. It was servic Beauty Items were constantly and generously replenished.
The number 0 on our room door was faded, and we returned to our room within half a day and it was immediately shining new. The breakfast included both a buffet with many, many options, plus an a la carte menu omlettes, eggs benny, pancakes that is included in your breakfast. Their continuous attention to detail just makes you feel the Principal Madrid is a class above 5 stars. We will stay here again.
They were really helpful in telling us the places to visit in Barcelona and how to reach them by metro or bus using the hotel map which was extremely helpful.
Further to that, they gave my baby boy a balloon every time they see us. The staff were warm and welcoming. The building is historical and gorgeous. The amenities were so lovely. We so enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar, La Isabella which happens to be my name in Spanish. We loved the included use of the spa with sauna and steam room. It was such It was such a nice touch to include use of the spa pool and amenities with the room. Overall, this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at for the money.
We loved it so much that we are returning tomorrow for 2 nights to finish our vacation in Spain! We only stayed for one night - our last evening in Barcelona after a week and a half traveling around Spain and part of France. I would have loved more time at the OD Barcelona; it's a clean, very comfortable hotel with warm and welcoming customer service.
It's not the highest end of the 5-star scale, but it's great value for money perhaps even better still because It's not the highest end of the 5-star scale, but it's great value for money perhaps even better still because we got a good deal on Agoda. The breakfast was delicious, the location was great, staff super friendly and helpful, and we were grateful to use their on location parking garage. The bed was super comfortable, as was the shower, though the open layout of the bathroom and design of the sink water splashed out a lot!
Overall, a great place to stay, and we are likely to stay here again on our next visit! The food at breakfast had a great selection and was great value for money if you didn't already have it included. We had our room upgraded when we arrived and our room was great, good shower and bed, awesome amount of space and the rooms were very modern. We unfortunately had a smell in our room wasn We unfortunately had a smell in our room wasn't sure if it was the air-con or not so we called front desk and it was taken care of within a heartbeat.
The pool is perfect as we loved having somewhere to hang around in between exploring, the views were great and the the Pool Bar staff were next level in amazing!
Tom and Veronica made our trip in Spain. We arrived early having arrived off an overnight flight. We were made welcome and able to leave our bags.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would recommend this Hotel as a good place to stay at reasonable cost. Lots of choice of places to eat just around the corner in La Rambla including the nearby food market which is well worth a visit and we ate at La Xerinola on La Ramblas opposite the market where the food was good value and the staff friendly.
There is so much to see in Barcelona - a great city. The airport bus drops you in the square at the top of La Rambla which is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. This Square is where all the tourist buses on the City tour start and a real hub.
We stayed at this hotel because of the access to public transit, and the free hotel van to downtown Madrid, and the airport. What we did not expect is the architectural features of the hotel It's rather like an art museum, with different themes on different floors. While the rooms themselves are lovely, with wifi an "interesting" bathtub on the "Star Wars" floor it i While the rooms themselves are lovely, with wifi an "interesting" bathtub on the "Star Wars" floor it is a classy joint.
It's spotlessly clean as well. We included the breakfast buffet in our package, and though a little pricy, I would have to give it five stars. The food is very good, with great variety I don't think you'll be sorry if you stay here on your next Madrid trip.
While it is not in central Madrid, a very short walk will put you at the nearby Metro stop. After that, you can really go anywhere in Madrid, though the hotel will drop you off downtown as well. This is one of those hotels that you will remember for the rest of your life. It is quite unique, and quite reasonably priced at the time of year we visited. Pleasant stay overall. The hotel location couldn't be better, the accommodations were clean and in fairly good repair but I did notice a lot of damage to walls and doors that should be fixed.
Also, the doors need closers or higher grade hinges so that they don't slam shut; that was the most unpleasant part of the stay. The staff could be a bit more attentive. There was There was a doorman present constantly but he rarely seemed to be at the hotel door but rather feet away for some unfathomable reason. Also, I did not like that housekeeping came into my room on the date of checkout prior to my checking out to start the room clean up. That was not 4-star service. Our stay at Hotel Mercer was most memorable, our first visit to Barcelona, this fabulous hotel made it extra special and we loved every minute.
The staff at the Mercer are exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for them; they helped us with theatre tickets, museum bookings, taxis and anything else we needed with their impeccable English. The hotel's location is as p The area is very quiet at night and away from the crowds which throng other areas of the city. The building is on the site of a former palace and has been carefully renovated and turned into a hotel of the highest standard without losing any of its historic charm, and retaining many of the original features.
The bedroom was roomy, the bathroom very well-equipped and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Housekeeping staff were discreet and conscientious.
We shall definitely return, and would most strongly recommend it as the best place to stay in Barcelona. Really enjoyed our first trip to Spain.
Got around pretty easily from the hotel using the metro. The rooms were spotless. The staff helpful. There was a smokey smell on the 4th floor, but in the corridor and not the rooms. Other than that, we had a perfect stay. Will definitely recommend. Mark was great! Great emailer before check in and great check in and check out host. Great location mostly because it's on same block of a metro stop. It's a little far from the marina and Las Ramblas but it's an enjoyable walk through the city.
Be very careful for purse snatchers walking up the hill to the cable car - they tried but didn't succeed. We enjoyed the street facing room but definitely not soundproof rooms as advertised.
Free wifi but very very weak on our third floor room, only available in apartment foyer and maybe in living room if the front door was open and never strong enough signal to get it in the bedrooms but the "Pan" sandwich restaurant next door had great wifi service at their tables and good food. I think because this is an apartment and not a hotel that only one hand and shower towel per bed is provided but no soap but there's a grocery store just across the street.
The items in this review aren't negative except wifi , they are noted for your heads up information because we would stay here again. Charmsuites, if you read this, because all you beds are twins even in the master suite you should purchase and make available the item that straps two twin beds together to make a king sized bed for the couples used to sleeping on the same bed.
Thank you for adding to our great vacation! The place is good, you walk in to a cool looking bar and reception and there is always good music playing. The room was big and really comfortable, big bathroom a The room was big and really comfortable, big bathroom and good toiletries. We had a balcony room overlooking the road which was a nice touch. The breakfast was really nice, just enough and quality foods. The price is great and location good, I recommend here over the big names, as it's located better and with the cool art and bars including a rooftop bar - it's more of a Barcelona City Living experience.
Barcelona is the best shopping in Europe with lovely weather, food and shopping! Did I mention the shopping!?! Remember to give any taxi drivers the full address as the hotel is not on the Ramlas itself Good location and clean facilities.
Has a kinda good beach clubish! Also two minutes away from Hi club which is prime location. It can get pricy if you book within a short notice. Also staff are amazing and concierge is so helpfull to sort out your parties if you wish. The room is of a normal size considering its location. But one can tell the hotel tried its best to make it as comfortable as possible. Personally speaking i think they achieved that. Someone used to complain about the glass wall between the shower and the bedroom, but there is a blind.
Others complain about toilet separate from the shower, which is the most common set Others complain about toilet separate from the shower, which is the most common setting in this part of Europe. The staff are just great. All the tips they gave us were extremely useful, saving a lot of time and made our visits in Barcelona smooth and enjoyable. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel, so really can't tell about that. I really wonder when was the time when Europe theme sounded stylish and sexy - today the once modern style of this hotel looks really outdated.
Apart from that almost everything is good - the location is about 20 minutes by bus 46 to the airport, almost the same to the city center. The hotel is clean, very easy to find, staff is friendly, rooms are spacious and well ai The hotel is clean, very easy to find, staff is friendly, rooms are spacious and well air conditioned, beds are comfortable, bathroom is good, wifi is not great, but does the job It may not be as stylish as a 4-star would suggest, but considering the favorable price, it's quite OK, especially for a short trip or a long layover.
I really liked this hotel. It's very modern, the decor is lovely and new, and the bedroom and bathroom was spacious and comfortable. I especially liked the toiletries provided, had a lovely bath with them! The metro was 1 minute walk around the corner and it took only 12 mins to get into town. I'd never been to Spain before, and I managed to get around on the metro I'd never been to Spain before, and I managed to get around on the metro safely on my own - it was easy.
The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The only negative was I asked for a standard room and was given twin beds 2 singles which was a bit uncomfortable for someone who stretches out in their sleep!
But it was not a dealbreaker. Honestly it's worth staying out of town a bit to get away from the crowds, stay in a large, comfortable new hotel with a good gym and breakfast. I would definitely recommend staying here. I was traveling with my mom touring Spain and Italy I booked the hotel because they offer free airport shuttle transfers which was great because I was at the end of my budget. Tho hotel staff was friendly but the shuttle drivers could use some customer service training.
They also offer a shuttle servi Because I didn't want to wait the 2 hours until the next shuttle to the city Very convenient and easy to navigate. The room was modern, very comfortable and everything organized and clean. Nice hotel overall. This hotel is the BEST at communicating with their guests even before they arrive! The staff has a heart and are very thoughtful.
THAT is what you call service. I will tell everyone. The hotel constantly wrote me emails of comfort and even reached to Agoda on my behalf to assist me with a refund. Agoda you were not nice. It was an extenuating circumstance despite the type of booking. I can produce the death certificate and was hoping for a full refund. The Olivia Balmes hotel will get my booking directly when next I visit Spain. Sadly, Agoda you and your team will not get any good reviews from me. Your service to me was not considerate during my time of unexpected grief.
The hotel Olivia gets 5 stars and more. Regrettably Agoda gets no stars. Hotel was well located and the worth the cost. Check-in: I wish I had been told the location of the sensor for activating the lights. Imagine entering a dark room for the first time and fumbling around. I had to go back down to the reception to be cheekily told "welcome to Europe, we save energy". Sure that is great! But guys let me know where the sensor is located But guys let me know where the sensor is located - 'behind the door' Like is the custom, for any hotel, the wifi password is written on the check-in paperwork or entry key cover.
Guess the reception guy 'forgot'. When asked for the hotel phone book generally kept by the phone , was told they did not have one and I should just dial 9 to get any information. Reception guys was probably having a bad day Stay: Was great. Like I said location was super. Check-out: Efficient. It is walking distance from Aerobus bus stop hence make the travelling journey to airport is easy and quick. With the price that they charged, it is value for money in this location. However, the downside is the hotel charge euro However, the downside is the hotel charge euro 1. There is no free WIFI facilities in the room and they charge internet based on minute that u access to the internet.
I thought WIFI is a basic facilities that a hotel has to offered? Gran ducat offers the right service and ample room size. Definitely value for money since it is centrally located and all the best shopping and dining areas are well within a 10 min walk from the hotel.
They have friendly staff who can suggest all the must see locations in Barcelona as well as the best routes to take to get there. This hotel is a stop and go type of ho This hotel is a stop and go type of hotel - I wont recommend it for couples on a honeymoon. But overall I am happy with the hotel and will recommend it to all my friends. Located in possibly the best neighbourhood in the city, absolutely stunning gothic architecture seconds walk from the hotel.
Staff were nice and kindly allocated us a triple room regardless of booking mistake which was for 2. Room was clean, really quiet, aircon working nicely. However toiletries were a bit basic and the room was tiny. Hotel location fantastic - in middle of La Rambla - restuarants, subway, shopping, public transport and sight seeing places all closeby.
Hotel rooms are newly rennovated and modern and good condition. Only issues I had was that the toilet did not work properly sometimes and took a while to get fix and sometimes I did not get shower gel and soap, had to ask but got serv Only issues I had was that the toilet did not work properly sometimes and took a while to get fix and sometimes I did not get shower gel and soap, had to ask but got served quickly.
Hotels in Spain are not as generous as in Asia - no fridge also. Would great to have a fridge. Overall, I would stay in hotel again if price is competitive. The location was great and within walking distance to all attractions and public transport. Fairly close to airport with free shuttle if you can find it for pick up. Cafe has good food for decent prices. Air conditioning worked well, best in all the hotels we stayed in Spain. Customer service was great except for one extremely rude front desk person.
They let us leave a couple suitcases in their storage prior to our stay so we could travel light to Franc They let us leave a couple suitcases in their storage prior to our stay so we could travel light to France. Decided to stay in Mazagon and found the place full of character and authentically Spanish.
The hotel was very nice, clean and everyone was friendly although, as non-Spanish speakers communication could have been problematic. Our only gripe was that the room came equipped with a kitchenette but had no cups, plates pans etc which we found very strange?
The was also no k The was also no kettle and when we requested one to heat up our baby bottles they did not have one and provided us with a saucepan? Overall though a very pleasant stay!
Everything is perfect except for a small check-in drama. I've booked all female room one bed, very clean, bright, not crowded, and out of window is very good view of the street. Transportation and restaurant everything is convenient. Location : very nice! Staff: they are so nice!!!
Cleaning: room was good but i think Cleaning: room was good but i think it is better if they take more care about cleaning.
We spent 2 days in Barcelona and at the Inout hotel, which is a very nice location in the forest, a bit far away from the city center if you don't have a car, but directly in the nature. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is very nice. And we also enjoyed the swimming-pool. To be recommended if you look for a "nice" price. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Fantastic hostel - conveniently located in an area that is nice and quiet, but an easy 15 min walk to Placa de Catalunya and the more busy, crowded and loud city center.
The staff here was absolutely wonderful - they will always greet you with a smile and offer to help. I ended up without a place to stay on New Year's Eve and even though Casa Kessler was fully booked, like 5 other places I checked that afternoon, they did me a huge favor by setting up a bed for me in a room that I think is designed to be an office. The following night I stayed in an 8-person dorm room and that was equally as comfortable and clean.
The decor of the place is really cool and I loved the outdoor terrace, even though I was too cold to fully enjoy it. This was by far my best hostel experience and I would highly recommend it. Nice hostel in the center of Granada, near Puerta Real. Very clean, friendly staff at reception. All shared rooms have their own bathroom with toilet and shower, additional toilet and shower on every floor.
Every floor has it's own fully equipped kitchen with washing machine. Tea and coffee and basics like salt, pepper, olive oil etc. Nice common room on Nice common room on the ground floor. Both room and bathroom are very clean. The staff is really friendly and introduced the city to customers. Good for one night. Right on the Camino, a mile or two past Sarria. Simple and spartan, shared bath, fan, stuffy with no window, no food on site but nice resto next door that gets a little loud but eventually quiets down.
No on-site staff so they contact you to arrange check-in time. Friendly and provide Camino stamp. It is a vey cheap hostal located in a very central location in Granada.
The hostel is very small with only a kitchen and the rooms. The staff is very friendly. The WIFI barely reaches the rooms, so you must go to the first floor at the kitchen.
My stay in the hostel was amazing. Everything is clean. The hostel is not so big which makes it kinda cozy. They have a pool table, computers, laudry machines I would definitely go back there! I was not paid to make this review. My stay at the sant jordi hostel was fantastic. The staff really works to create a community within the hostel and they do an excellent job. There were always people to meet and suggestions of things to do.
This was my first time solo traveling and my stay at sant jordi has solidified the fact that I must do it again. I arrived to the hostel just before 9 am on a Sunday morning, however there was no one there even though the sign said reception hours were 8am.
After about 45mins of knocking on the door 3 other guests had arrived to check in. Finally we woke a guest who offered to let us drop our bags inside so we didn't have to stand waiting with heavy backpacks. He then explained I love a good hostel party but if it's going to interfere with the professionalism of your business and leave your guests standing in the street, then you need to fix it.
Apart from that bathrooms were very clean, fridge and microwave in the kitchen where handy and rooms were tidy.
The Argentinian staff who welcomed me and helped me during my stay were absolutely lovely! The hostel is a villa with a view to die for and is something we might look at and wonder how the other half lives.
The rooms were clean and the prices for food and drinks were reasonable. It was also nice because this was a hostel where guests talked to each other and hung ou It was also nice because this was a hostel where guests talked to each other and hung out.
My concers were about the facilities. It was not completely booked when I was there but there are only three showers and two toilets or was it the opposite? Secondly, they have a trellis on the balcony but no plants or vines on it. Finally, they shut everything down at ! They did not want you to bring your own alcohol but when you only finish dinner at this seems a bit early. I realize they may be trying to ensure that it does not become a party hostel but how about midnight?
I was in the city by myself working on a film for three days. The hostel had everything I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, beds comfy and private with individual lights and curtains and everything was lovely and clean. Didn't seem like the best atmosphere if you wanted to meet people and party, but it's perfect for a relaxed visit.
We were a couple on the Camino with a private room that looked exactly as pictured on booking site. Shared bathrooms were best on the Camino: almost spa-like, with heated towel rails, and lots of room for personal toiletries. Modern room with wraparound windows, lots of heat, excellent wifi. Outstanding hostel in every way. We arrived to hostel at about We were met at the reception without any problem, we gave a deposition for keys 10 euro each and sucessfully got our rooom.
It was so clean and smelled so good this smell of clean sheets was there for all three days. Beds were comfortable af. It was noisy outside but it's obvious if you live in the city centure. There are free l There are free lockers at room. No wardrobe. We shared bathroom with other rooms but it was not uncomfortable at all. It also was clean and well-equiped.
Especially nice were guys at the reception. They gave us free food that was left after dinner when we arrived late and hepled us a lot with routes and nice places. Also we were given free maps and printed timetable of trains to Port Aventure.
They printed our e-tickets for free as well. The metro station is nearby, two streets to cross. Bus stops are almost everywhere. There are cheap bars, fruit shop and supermarket on the same stree, very convenient just in case. To sum up, it was one of the best hostels I've ever been to, highly recommend it! I booked a dorm room for six, and it's a suite room, two beds in the inner room and 4 beds in the outer room, which is very cool because it really felt like staying in a dorm room for four.
The bed is very squeaky and shower is not so hot. My stay was astounding. Hostel has a common area with BIG kitchen on level 2, 4 free computers in the common area, shared restrooms in all common areas, levels. There are lockers under each bed in each room for luggage storage, and upon check out there is a luggage storage room in the reception area. Hostel conveniently located in heart of Seville tourist area with shopping, sites within in walking distance.
You won't be disappointed if you book a private room or dorm bed at Oasis Backpacker Palace Sevilla. I booked and other local food. It is worth staying in the hostel. Luckily I arrived early and the manager changed it for me to a 3-person dorm, whcih meant paying more but it was worth the money. The managef who originally came from Mendoza, Argentina, is very helful and friendly.
H e gave me details about the best fo H e gave me details about the best food tapa. It was awesome experience staying there. All staffs are also travel-lovers and extremely friendly, those friendly atmosphere spread to all people staying there.
Nicely tiny size also makes it easy to communicate each other, so pretty many of us hanged out together at night. There are also creative event suggestion from hotel almost every night, like going out together There are also creative event suggestion from hotel almost every night, like going out together to clubs, home spanish cooking, etc. Barcelona itself is great place to visit, but after all it's all about who you meet there, especially for solo travelers.
Pros: kitchen is okay, nice small garden, comfy beds Cons: no hot water on the double room shared bathroom, room gets too hot in the night. If you stay at Sant Jordi Hostel Rock Palace--expect 5-star treatment, great facilities, pub crawls every night. Staff is very professional--Paolo is a 5-star team member along with the rest. You won't be disappointed if you book a room or bed at Sant Jordi hostel.
Give them a try, see how you can experie Doing the Camino with a baby we needed a private room with a shower. Room is mostly a bed, we had better for 40E in other places but all and all it did the job - clean room, not too noisy, smack on the trail.
Hostel staff are very friendly — they really make a point to talk to you, ask you what your name is, etc. Atmosphere is pretty social, especially since there is a large room with couches at reception. They have wash and dry laundry for 7 euros, an outdoor patio, and free vegetarian dinners at They have wash and dry laundry for 7 euros, an outdoor patio, and free vegetarian dinners at 9pm. Fridge, stove, and cookware available if you want to cook.
Cheap breakfast for 3 euros. Feels very homey. Only issue is that only some bunk beds have the coveted curtains I booked an 8 bed dorm and we did have curtains and storage underneath the bunk beds where you can lock your stuff.
However there was a wall partition that led to 8 more beds People seem to be considerate of light and noise. There are separate male and female washrooms. Within 10 min walk of 2 metro stations and bus stations and the beach! Danny and management do a grea Danny and management do a great job here managing the operations of a bed hostel. There are 8 free computers on the ground floor with a bar that serves dinner, drinks from 7 pm to 1 am each night.
Breakfast is served from am to 11 am each morning for only 4 EURO! Each dorm or private room has ensuite bathrooms and showers for guest comfort, convenience. On the top level, there is a terrace overlooking a beautiful view of the city as well as a small swimming pool if you want some FUN in the SUN. Great hotel with a fantastic staff! We were traveling with our son, stayed in the Gracia neighborhood the week before and returned to the hotel for our last night in Spain before heading to the airport.
The location is easy to the metro for ease of getting around and the taxi to the airport was straightforward. This was our first time to Spain. We are so lucky that stayed at the right hotel. We went from the Atocha train station and just a 5 mins walk to this hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights. We were arranged to the top floor with a big balcony that was fantastic. We can say good night every night when we finished our sightseeing. Room does not has a free internet service Room does not has a free internet service but we can get free internet at the lobby.
Alongside hotel has many Spanish restaurants and pubs. Those restaurants open until late night, that is very good for us "owl" to go running at the park, then have a late night dinner and drink right after. The only one thing we think this is a drawback that the lobby can get free internet but we have to ask the hotel people to get a new password and username by every half an hour.
They do appreciate to give you but is very inconvenient for the business travel people who need to do some work before sightseeing like us. Room has an internet service but charges expensive.
If people do not need to use internet much, this hotel is a good choice to stay. The location is perfect The staff Oscar was helpful and accommodating. The room is quaint but very comfortable and has two small balconies. The shower room is quite nice wit The shower room is quite nice with perfect water pressure.
I could have rated value for the money with 5 stars had I booked much earlier than I did Pros is the location n proximity to the heart of the city. However the biggest let down is the construction outside the hotel n many other hotels in town! This makes it difficult for taxis to access. The room was big for European st The room was big for European standard for triple sharing.
When the whole construction project in that area is completed I guess it will be good again for hotels in that area.
Good to ask any property that you are booking if they are affected by it. We were touring Spain and returned to Barcelona for one day! This was the perfect location for us. Great for touring, close to restaurants and shopping and gay bars.
The hotel is very clean and modern. The bathrooms are roomy and have a tub. Which is a nice addition and not found in most European hotels.
The rooms are large. The only draw back is no on sit The only draw back is no on site bar. This was the perfect hotel for us to stay when we went to Barcelona to visit our son who was spending the semester there. It was walking distance to most of the areas we wanted to see or a short cab ride to the others. Can't beat the price for such a great location. Also, I don't sleep well away from home, and had no problems here The staff was very polite and helpful when needed.
We didn't need any additional facilities which is why I gave that 3 stars. Will absolutely recommend to my friends who are going to visit their kids!! The hotel is not the most central located one but it has very good and comfortable design, helpful receptionist and spa at a low price. Very good value for money, best hotel I have ever stayed in Spain. Best stay in Spain. Hotel is located literally above Barcelona's main railway and metro stations. Within minute metro rides of Barcelona's main attractions.
Hotel room was meticulously clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities provided toiletries, safe, iron, ironing board, mini bar, large screen TV, hairdryer, etc. Features double sinks and full Features double sinks and full size shower. Free WiFi and free use of iMacs in the lobby area. ATM machine conveniently located at the lobby by the elevators area. Customer service was excellent. Enjoyed my short stay. Rooms were very clean but location is not ideal.
Its a 25 euro taxi trip from Airport. No bus because i arrived after midnight in Barcelona, otherwise there is a 5 min walk bus stop from Hotel. But there was a variety of food choices available. Reception - was helpful, explained about the public transport, Set up a wake up call but did not get it on the first day lucky i set up my own alarm. The rooms are very clean, spacious with beautiful interior.
The bed was super comfortable and the best part was the view! This hotel have breathtaking views!! The staff were very nice and helpful, and excellent breakfast with a wide range of choices. Location is super ideal with the beach and restaurants a few steps away and buss stop 1 minuet walk away. The buss takes The buss takes you all the way to the central and all main attractions.
