Can someone suggest where the best location would be to stay in order to be close to the excitement, restaurants, shops, etc? We will not have a car. Many thanks! The best place to be is in the downtown area, especially since you will not have a car. You will be close to Orange Square, which has many good stores at affordable prices, and there are many restaurants nearby.
The paseo maritimo is wonderful to walk by at sunset, and it has about 40 restaurants there. You can take the bus to Puerto Banus and take a look-see. Prices are prohibitive there, but it is interesting to visit. Try to book a twin room in a sea front hotel or apartment as Benny Malaga says, in Marbella town itself. It is a charming town with lovely shops, bars and cafes, leafy parks and the palm tree lined, marble walkway which goes all the way to Puerto Banus , ideal for walking.
You don't say what your budget is, but if its luxury you're after, bear in mind most of the upscale villas tend to be up in the hills, quite far out of the town, so a car is def required. For more reasonably priced apartments look at Tripadvisor's Holiday Rental section on the left of this page, or I use Linglyn Travel for super affordable, but fantastically centrally located apartments with shared swimming pools and near the beach.
But if you want somewhere right in the middle of all the major partying action, then I would suggest either a hotel or apartment right in Puerto Banus itself. Linglyn Travel also have a few apartments to rent in PB. Have a great time! Another website that might be of interest for apartments to rent in Puerto Banus is www.
Thank you very much for the information. I'll definitely contact Linglyn Travel and also look into hotels in the central part of Marbella. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. I will be property hunting both east and west of Marbella. I normally like to be close to the sea but will be looking for an apartment. Any suggestions will be appreciated. To enjoy Marbella , best stay no more than a five minute walk from Puerto Deportivo de Marbella. I would stay near the Paseo Maritimo , which has 50 restaurants and bars.
The old town is the best area to leave Marbella life. It's a relaxing area. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. It really enjoys a fantastic location, as the front overlooks the Alameda Park, while the back of the hotel opens onto the narrow streets of the historic quarter. Newly refurbished, its comfortable, en-suite rooms come with free Wi-Fi, TV, safe deposit box, and balconies facing either the park and the sea beyond or the picturesque meandering streets of Marbella Old Town.
The on-site restaurant uses local, seasonal ingredients to prepare delicious Mediterranean dishes, and the 4 meeting rooms on the first floor are suitable for a variety of events. Not to mention the beach is less than meters away.
One of the best parts of staying in a pension is the warm and friendly atmosphere that greets you there, and Pension Aduar has plenty of it. Housed in a typical whitewashed Andalusian building hidden on a cobbled backstreet of Marbella Old Town, this delightful guesthouse boasts a charming inner courtyard, solarium, and terrace, and provides all necessary facilities for an enjoyable stay.
Guests have the opportunity to choose between private single, double, and triple rooms, and all units have Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and private or share bathrooms. An ideal option for backpackers and budget travelers looking for a central location and great value for money, Hostal Enriqueta offers clean, comfortable rooms and an adorable Andalusian-style patio. Its air-conditioned rooms have from one to four beds, and all come with private bathrooms and TVs.
Some units feature balconies or nice views of the courtyard. The highlight of this hostel, however, is its unbeatable location in the heart of Marbella Old Town. Plaza de los Naranjos is right next door, and so are a number of bars, restaurants, and lovely shops.
