Will definitely use this company again and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody. As I arrived to the airport, and saw all these people lining up at the big names car rental booths and the pretty bad ones, like OKgo and what not all I felt was sorry for these people. We hired F1 type car , so we got the Peugeot crossover. What a beautiful car. When I returned the car , it took literally 30 seconds!
We stayed in Alcudia the other side of the island, that's around 45 KM drive and we drove around everyday, we put 40 Euros worth of diesel in it and we returned it with the same amount of gas in it. All in all, I'm SO glad that I went with them.
But I understand the confusion because I almost did the same but then I thought nop.. I'll follow what we were told, bring it back to the same place. I confirm all good references i read on this blog. I hired a Vanrell car for 8 days and everything went smoothly. The only problem I had was while returning the car in the Palma airport parking.
I went thru the first entrance to the parking thinking I could climb from there to the third floor. I was wrong, each floor has its own toll gate. The thing is poorly indicated and I got nervous as I lost much time getting out from the first floor and figuring out how to get to the third floor and feared to get late to check in.
This has nothing to do with Vanrell but thought to share this experience with other people visiting this blog. Decided to use Vanrell after reading bad reviews on Goldcar, so glad we did! Our flight was delayed by 2hrs, emailed them to say our friends would pick the car up as we had a named driver, no problems there, just had to pop in office next day with my husbands licence. No fuel rip off's here just leave what you started with.
Wish other car hire companies could be as good as Vanrell, would definitely use again. We have been to Mallorca about 6 times now and I have always worried about the hire car we which sort out ourselves. However there were no worries this time which made our Holiday even more enjoyable. From the initial on line booking to collecting the car all went so smoothly and was a nice experience with a nice attitude at the desk. We did go for the extra Insurance which we always do just for peace of mind and was only 56 euros anyway.
The car was excellent and dealing with a renowed family business put us at ease and worry free. We shall be going to Mallorca again next year for 2 weeks and will be using Vanrell again. We were just in Mallorca for the first time on July 5th. As you may suspect, prices become more expensive the closer the summer season approaches.
The regulated parking areas of Palma de Mallorca are marked with blue line s on the ground, and with vertical signs that indicate the area.
You have to pay at the parking meters , either in cash, with a card, or with prepaid cards that are recharged at the parking meter. You can also pay through a mobile application called Telpark. The blue zone rates apply from Monday to Friday, between am and pm, and pm and pm, and on Saturdays from am to pm. The price varies according to three fare zones, being more expensive the closer to the center of the city, and cheaper towards the outskirts and markets.
Keep this in mind to see if it's more convenient to park the car in a more remote area and go downtown by foot. For the next half hour you must park away at a minimum distance of meters. Check the website of the ORA of Palma for more information on regulated parking in Palma de Mallorca, and the map of the parking areas in Palma de Mallorca to know what rates and conditions apply in the area where you want to leave your car.
If you have been reported for exceeding the parking time in the blue zone, you can cancel the complaint at the parking meter. The instructions for paying the fine will be found in the parking meter itself. It is mandatory to enter the exact amount, or the process will be canceled. You can also pay your penalty through the Telpark mobile application. Make sure to pay the fine as soon as you can. If you do not do it, the fine would arrive at your rental agency, and from there you would be charged on the card the amount of the fine and a supplement of "administrative charges".
If it's too late, you'll have to go to the car deposit. Do not forget to bring your ID, the car's documentation and the rental contract. In this table we give you the contact details of the municipal car deposits of Palma de Mallorca:. The organizations that are in charge of the claims are the Transportation Arbitration Boards. You can also file your complaint at the municipal offices of the consumer, but they will not solve it.

If you require car hire to get from the airport to Puerto Pollensa then you should aim to have this booked and confirmed in advance.
Even though there appear to be hundreds of unused rental cars parked at Palma Airport, the sheer volume of tourist arrivals, particularly at peak season, means there are rarely any spare vehicles for "walk-ins". If your transport to Puerto Pollensa is by coach you can still arrange car rental, usually at quite short notice, either via your tour operator's representative or directly by visiting one of the local offices.
Beware however the "wet day" response where every car seems to be taken within a few minutes of the first spot of rain! The majority of Hire companies give letter classifications for their cars according to size, specification and tariff. As you move up the ranges five doors and air conditioning become standard together with larger engines and body sizes.
