Important information. The kitchen is fully equipped with a kettle, toaster, full size cooker, fridge freezer and many other items of crockery and cutlery. Balconies are massive, one leading off the living area and one leading off one of the bedrooms, also had loungers and chairs as well as a large table.
The pool was quite disappointing but acceptable, the pool isn't very deep and there were jets at the back section of the pool.
Pool bar staff friendly enough and drinks reasonably priced. Loungers are a nightmare trying to get a hold of one especially next to the glass divider. The staff on reception were friendly but trying to get a hold of the pool towels which are 20euros deposit, which is quite expensive but towels are big enough for the larger person to use too.
The hotel gym is adequately equipped and hidden away from plain sight which is always good. Plenty of entertainment for adults and children alike. The only issues with the hotel itself was the fact that the apartments were up a big hill and would definitely be unsuitable for people with mobility issues or with buggies etc but this was no issues for our party personally.
There was a small mini mart downstairs which was well equipped and even had a cigarette vending machine. Really enjoyed the time we spent here and would highly recommend! Recommendable place for couples as well as for families. Each apartment is equipped with a large terrace with wonderful view of Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago. Because of the localization the access to the beach could be a bit tiresome especially for families with small children.
Had a great two weeks holiday. The hotel was great and the area quiet and relaxing. Will be definitely returning. Did think the kids might have got board but they loved it. Felt like we mattered. Rooms well maintained and staff very helpful.
My husband and I visited the Royal Sun at Los Gigantes and stayed for 3 weeks in May , a planned holiday following my retirement from work. The apartments are spotless, well equipped and air-conditioned remote controlled aircon unit in main living area and fan in bedroom and they enjoy superb views over Los Gigantes town, harbour and surrounding area. The apartment balconies are very spacious with loungers, table, chairs etc. It's especially nice to watch the sun set over La Gomera in the evening with a glass of wine or beer.
The pool, bars, restaurants are all excellent and the staff throughout the complex are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful - from the reception staff to the cleaning staff who always have a smile as they go about their tasks. However, the supermarket can be a little expensive even though convenient.
Los Gigantes is a lovely town, as is neighbouring Puerto Santiago, and there are plenty of shops, bars and a variety of restaurants in both. There is also a light, airy, modern and well-stocked Lidl supermarket in Puerto Santiago. The area is certainly a quieter and more relaxing part of Tenerife than such locations as Playa De Las Americas.
We like this part of Tenerife and we would certainly both recommend The Royal Sun and stay there again ourselves. We have just returned from a week's holiday here and I can honestly say that it was way above my expectations.
Apartment was spacious with a large balcony. Very clean resort and every apartment has unobstructed fantastic sea views. All staff very very friendly and helpful especially Mila at the resort reception desk who gave us good advice on local restaurants and made reservations for us. Big thanks to Carlos and Wendy also for their assistance. Good breakfast choices and the on site restaurants were excellent especially the Aqua. Location is not great for those with walking difficulties of which my wife is one but taxis down to Los Gigantes were fairly inexpensive.
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Log in to get trip updates and message other travellers. Royal Sun Resort. Lowest prices for your stay.
